A king, A teacher and Halal sustenance |
Mulla Ahmed jivan was the teacher of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb Alamgir of India.
Aurangzeb had great respect for his teacher.
And the teacher was also proud of his student.
When Aurangzeb became the king of India, he sent a message to Ustad
through his slave asking him to visit Delhi one day and give him an opportunity
to serve.
Coincidentally, it was the month of Ramadan and the students of the
madrassa were also on vacation. So they headed for Delhi.
The meeting between the teacher and the student took place after
Asr prayer at Delhi's Jama Masjid.
Taking the teacher with him, Aurangzeb proceeded towards the royal
fort.
Aurangzeb and Ustad spent the entire month of Ramadan together.
After performing the Eid prayer together, Mulla Jeevan expressed
his intention to return.
The king took out a lime from his pocket and presented it to his
teacher.
The teacher happily accepted the offering and went home.
After that, Aurangzeb was so busy fighting in the Deccan that he
did not have the fortune to come to Delhi for fourteen years.
When he returned, the Prime Minister told Mulla Ahmed Jeevan has
become a very big landowner.
If it is allowed, rent should be collected from them.
Aurangzeb was shocked to hear this. How a poor teacher can become a
landlord.
He wrote a letter to the teacher and expressed his desire to meet.
Mulla Ahmad Jeevan visited in the month of Ramadan as before.
And Nagzeb took them with great honor.Mulla Ahmed's dress,
conversation and manners were as simple as before.
Therefore, the king did not have the courage to ask him about
becoming a big landowner. could
One day Mulla Sahib himself said:
The lime you gave was a great blessing.
I bought cotton from him and cultivated cotton. God blessed him so
much that in a few years it turned from hundreds to millions.
Aurangzeb was happy to hear this and started smiling and said:
If allowed, let me tell the story of Chunni. Mulla Sahib said that
you must recite it.
Aurangzeb ordered his servant to present Seth “Uttam Chand” of
Chandni Chowk with an account of such and such date.
Seth Uttamchand became a minor.
When he was presented before Aurangzeb, he was trembling with fear.
Aurangzeb gently said: Come forward and without any panic open the
account and give the details of the expenditure.
Seth Uttam Chand opened his account and started narrating the
history and expenditure details.
Mulla Ahmad Jeevan and Aurangzeb listened silently, and Seth
stopped at one place.
Here a chuni was recorded as expenditure but the name of the
recipient was not mentioned in front of it.
Aurangzeb gently asked:
Yes, tell me, where did this lime go?
Uttam Chand closed the account and said: If you are allowed, may I
narrate a painful story?
The king said: It is allowed.
He said: O king of time! One night it rained heavily and my house
began to leak. The house was newly built and all the account details were also
in the same house. I tried hard, but the roof kept leaking. I looked out and
saw a man standing under a lantern. Thinking of a laborer, I asked, O brother,
will you do labor?
He said why not?
The man went to work.
He worked for about three or four hours, when the house stopped
leaking he came in and fixed everything. Meanwhile, the morning call to prayer
began.
He said:
Seth sir!
Your work is done, allow me, I put my hand in my pocket to pay him,
and a lime came out.
I said to him:
O brother!
I have this lime right now, take it, and come to the shop in the
morning and you will get a wage.
He said this is enough, I can't attend again.
I and my wife prayed for it a lot.
But he didn't agree and said, then give this lime, otherwise let it
stay.
I was forced to give the lime and he took it away.
And since then he could not be found.
Fifteen years have passed today. My heart reproached me so much
that I would have let him get up without a rupee.
Uttamchand then sought permission from the king and left.
The King said to Mulla Sahib:
This is the same lime.
Because I had disguised myself that night to find out the condition
of the subjects.
So there I worked as a laborer.
Mulla Sahib said happily.
I already knew that this award must have been earned by my talented
student.
Aurangzeb said:
Yes, indeed, the fact is that I have never taken a single pie for
myself from the royal treasury.
I make hats two days a week.
I work for two days.
I am happy that because of me, the need of someone in need has been
fulfilled; it is all the result of your prayers.
